Kathmandu: The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has reported ongoing light to moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning in select areas of the Koshi region and certain parts of the hilly areas within the Bagmati province.

This weather phenomenon is attributed to the influence of westerly winds combined with local atmospheric conditions. Over the course of the day, the weather is expected to range from partially to generally cloudy in hilly regions across the country, encompassing Koshi, Madhes, and Sudurpaschim provinces, while remaining clear in other areas.

Forecasting for this afternoon indicates the possibility of light to moderate rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms, gusty winds, and lightning in several locations within Koshi and Gandaki Provinces, as well as in hilly regions across the remaining provinces. Additionally, isolated instances of rain are anticipated in the Terai region of Lumbini and Sudurpaschim Provinces.

Furthermore, there is a likelihood of light snowfall occurring in isolated areas within the high hilly and mountainous regions of the country.
